Booty Queen Apparel features fitness clothing for women who like to build their bodies and accentuate their curves in style. Husband and wife team Amanda Latona Kuclo and Steven Kuclo, fitness competitors and bodybuilders from Dallas, launched the clothing line soon after their wedding in 2015. They came to the tank on April 21, 2017 (Season 8, Episode 22) seeking an investment of $250,000 for a 20% equity stake in their business.
The clothing line features leggings, tees, hoodies and other gear designed to accentuate a woman's figure, while being comfortable. The moisture-wicking fabric used helps to prevent discomfort during workouts. The high-cut waistband on the leggings not only prevents muffin tops, but also eliminates the need to pull and tug during workouts. The nylon, spandex blend contours the body, while the cutouts and mesh details add style.
Athleisure wear and fitness clothing is doing very well in the marketplace. While the market could be considered saturated with competing brands, Booty Queen Apparel seeks their niche in clothing specifically designed to be comfortable and to capture the booty-admiring trend.
Booty Queen Apparel secured a deal with Daymond John for $250,000 in exchange for a 33.3% equity stake.
BOOTY QUEEN PRODUCT UPDATE - AFTER SHARK TANK
The deal with Daymond John appears to have finalized. Many deals made on the show fall do through during the due diligence process from one side or the other dropping out or not being able to negotiate terms.
Daymond John tweated on Dec. 14, 2017, "Congrats to my #SharkTank partner @BQ_apparel on the cover of @muscle_fitness! http://bit.ly/2zdktuf "
Booty Queen is selling through its website, on Amazon and through other online retailers. Amazon reviewers have given the Laser Cut Leggings a 3.7 star rating with mixed, but largely favorable reviews.
The company's Facebook page has over 13,000 followers and posts frequently. There have been Shark Tank specials featured, but I could not find a reference to anything happening post-Shark Tank in relation to Daymond John. Posts were made referencing the deal with John the day of and the day following the airing of the show. Booty Queen Apparel has a huge Instagram following of over 47,000.
